Routakehä - Kaikkien Alkujen Loputtua [demo] (01/2012)
| Reviews - 2012 |
Routakehä, from Laitila, Finland, contributes to the Finnish Rock / Metal scene with their second demo "Kaikkien Alkujen Loputtua". The band sings in Finnish, using both growls and clean vocals and describes their music as Melodic Thrash Metal.
The opener "Nathaniel ja Isabel" lowers the expectations one might have of Routakehä based on the cover art, and unfortunately the slightly stronger tracks to follow don’t have enough gunpowder to save this ship from sinking.
The band seems to have been influenced by few of the more well-known Finnish Thrash bands as e.g. Mokoma, as it tries to find its own place on the menu of the genre. Unfortunately the search isn't doing well.
Bland and to some extent even annoying clean vocals smother the small hope "Kaikkien Alkujen Loputtua" has. There is nothing horribly wrong with the demo, as especially the latter tracks contain some fresh elements, but the overall picture stays insipid. "Kaikkien Alkujen Loputtua" falls into the category of the forgotten c-tapes which might be found from a cardboard box after 10 years following a thought: "what were we thinking…".
